Westbury Gardens hold some special memories for me and my family. A very close friend of my family, recently passed away from cancer. Her name was Esther. She was a constant visitor to the Gardens during her treatment period, as the Gardens provided an oasis of peace and tranquility for her. Esther would sit quietly on a bench in a certain area in the Garden and reflect and meditate. Sadly she soon became too weak to venture out and she ended her days in hospice, with only memories of happy days spent in the Gardens. Recently her sister called my family and told us an amazing story. Westbury Gardens was promoting a contest in which you had to write something about the Gardens. She wrote about her sister and what the Gardens meant to her. The story touched the Westbury Garden people so much that they had a meeting and decided to name the very bench that her sister would sit on day after day; "Esther's bench".

Westbury Gardens a place for memories

Why listen to music at home when you can listen to it live?

I love listening to music as well as dancing but in general I just love to let loose and have a good time. As long as I've lived in Westbury I have passed by the Music Fair and observed the cars in long lines waiting to get into the Music Fair right off of the expressway. But really I have never thought much about it, until one day I happened to look at the billboard to see the featured artists...Lo and behold I see that it's Ringo Starr and his band, I did a double take and I thought to myself "wow?!" Ringo Starr from the Beatles - coming to "my" town? I love the Beatles and always wanted to go see a live performance- so I bought tickets and went with some friends. We had a blast! The arena is nice and small so it was a very intimate concert which made you feel as if you were listening to music in your living room. Amazing experience! You can feel the energy from the crowd and Ringo was great live, you could almost picture Paul and the rest of the Beatles there on stage with him. I can truly say that I had fun and would go another concert at the Music Fair.
